Now that you love Danna's BBQ, you probably want to know more about us. Danna's BBQ is named after Danna Junck (pronounced Yunck). Danna grew up not too far from Aunt Ruth and Uncle Jack's BBQ restaurant, " The Brisket House" on Bayway Drive in Baytown, Texas.
Danna has many fond memories of sitting at the counter eating bbq and sipping a cola with Aunt Ruth while her dad chopped hickory wood for the restaurant. She always dreamed of having her own restaurant when she was a young girl.
In the early 1990's Danna met and married a man who liked the restaurant business as much as she did. Kyle Junck has extensive restaurant experience and a degree from the University of Houston in Restaurant Management.
Danna's brother once asked her when she was going to stop working in the restaurant business and go to college and get her degree. She promptly replied that as soon as she married Kyle she would have all the college degree she would ever need.
Shortly after marriage Kyle and Danna were transferred to Branson, Missouri, to work for a corporate restaurant.
In the summer of 2001, an opportunity was presented to Danna to have her own BBQ restaurant and since barbecue was in her bloodline it seemed like a natural fit. With the full support of Kyle, they purchased a small restaurant that soon became known as Danna's BBQ and Burger Shop.
In the fall of 2002, their only location at the time suffered a devastating blow when an electrical fire burned the restaurant down in the middle of the night. It took a year to remodel the old hotel that already existed on the property into the existing restaurant.
One year later, Danna's expanded, opening another location in Branson West, Missouri. Soon after, the third Danna's opened in 2006 in Kirbyville, Missouri.
Danna's BBQ is definately a family business. Kyle and Danna have two boys named Matt and Lance. They started to work in the restaurant when they were as young as five and six. Danna and Kyle are training the boys, " Anything worth having is worth working for. " Teaching the boys to recognize quality and that it's all about the "details." That's what sets us apart from the other restaurants. Weekends and summers, you can often find the boys working hard....caring for the family business.
Kyle and Danna are active in the Branson community. The restaurants support the local Fire Department, Emergency Services, and Police Department. In addition, they support several local chuches and local sports teams.
If you are in the Branson area, stop by and enjoy some slow smoked BBQ with the Junck family. They love to meet new friends at an ol' fashioned BBQ!
